Mosaic crochet tutorial “Lidia Crochet Tricot”

Materials needed:

Yarn quantities used – Size 96 x 110 cm:

This size is ideal for:

– naps
– covering your baby in the cot or pushchair
– or even using it as a soft play mat

Main yarn: 6 balls (Mini Baby Vely); 370 grams for the blanket and 140 grams for the double border, so 510 grams in total (6 balls)
– You can also use Maya yarn (same quantity)
For the hearts: we have rows with 7 hearts and rows with 6 hearts.
For the entire blanket (shown in the image, with these dimensions), we used 280 grams of Bonno in total:
– mustard colour (2 balls): 80 grams (row of 7 hearts repeated 3 times + 4-row border)
– green colour (1 ball): 36 grams (row of 6 hearts repeated 2 times)
– purple colour (1 ball): 44 grams (row of 7 hearts repeated 2 times)
– orange colour (1 ball): 36 grams (row of 6 hearts repeated 2 times)
– fuchsia pink colour (1 ball): 44 grams (row of 7 hearts repeated 2 times)
– blue colour (1 ball): 36 grams (row of 6 hearts repeated 2 times)

For beautiful symmetry, one colour (in my case, mustard) is used one extra time so that the blanket begins and ends in the same way → you will therefore need 2 balls of this colour.

Approximate quantities for an adult blanket – Size 190 x 220 cm:

Main yarn: 21 balls (Mini Baby Vely)
For the hearts:
– colour 1 Bonno (of your choice): 7 balls
– colour 2 Bonno (of your choice): 3 balls
– colour 3 Bonno (of your choice): 4 balls
– colour 4 Bonno (of your choice): 3 balls
– colour 5 Bonno (of your choice): 4 balls
– colour 6 Bonno (of your choice): 3 balls

These quantities are based on my 96×110 cm model, adapted to a larger size. Remember to adjust according to your tension and how you distribute the colours. It is always best to have an extra ball to avoid any unpleasant surprises along the way!
